Boston marathon social
MONDAY, OCT 11th | 12-2:30PM
Grab a friend and join fellow NCC'ers as we cheer on the runners and hand out water bottles at the Boston Marathon. We'll gather outside Huzie and James' home:
970 Commonwealth Ave, Newton MA

Intersection of Commonwealth & Walnut Street. South side. Blue house. Mile 19. It's right on the route, at the corner of Commonwealth and Walnut Street in Newton.

Comm Ave will be closed and the surrounding streets are blocked so you cannot park close to Comm Ave. Here are options:
FROM THE NORTH:
Walnut St and Lowell Ave will be partially closed and detoured as you get closer to Comm Ave. You can park at Newton North High school. The closest one can get to Comm ave would be on Beaumont Ave (you have to enter from Walnut and follow the detour sign). See attached image.
FROM THE SOUTH:
Walnut St will be closed by Homer St stretching all the way to Centre street. You can try to park on side streets south of Homer and walk up. You can try to park near the Newton Center playground.
DO KNOW IT'S COMPLETELY FINE TO CROSS OVER COMMONWEALTH AVE. JUST MAKE SURE YOU LOOK OUT FOR RUNNERS.
